Every cell in the human body contains our master blueprint, DNA, which is composed of four basic amino acids arranged in a twisting, ladder-like column of pairs: Adenine and Thiamine, Guanine and Cytosine. Each DNA strand contains approximately 100,000 groupings of these pairs, called genes. These genes tell our protein building networks, RNA, how to construct cells in a healthy and orderly manner, or, when the system is impaired, in an improper, unhealthy manner. As we age, the normal twisting of this DNA strand begins to unwind, the replication process degenerates, and we age and experience weakening in our overall immune system.
