Traditionally trained as a painter and sculptor at the University of Michigan, Las Vegas resident Scott has become a master of digital art. No longer bounded by canvas nor limited to a single sculpture, Scott architects a vast three-dimensional environment of color, texture and shape. After exploring his universe, Scott captures in a print the serendipitous context-from-chaos that he has created.
Growing up in Holland, Michigan, Scott was greatly influenced by two of Holland's most famous businesses and global leaders of design: Howard Miller Clocks and Herman Miller. His passion for contemporary and modern architecture combined with his reverence for the universe is evident in his artwork. A digital environment best allowed him to replicate the vastness of space - while allowing him to position the camera from infinite compositional perspectives. "Sometimes it is from within the environment looking out - and sometimes it is from the outside looking in," the artist explains.
A virtual pioneer in digital art, Scott exacts the same patience and effort in creating his 3D sculptures as he would with clay. Each element is carefully modeled and then situated in his "galaxy." He adds and subtracts color and luminance until he achieves the desired effects. Once the galaxy is complete, he explores the depths through the eye of a photographer, looking for that rare composition that explodes with color, light and motion.
Private collectors around the world have enjoyed Scott's digital art.
